MOCAfest, also known as the Marketplace of Creative Arts, is an annual event held during WIEF. It reflects WIEF’s keen awareness of the importance of culture and creativity in global economic as well as social development.
The 13th WIEF’s theme, Disruptive Change: Impact & Challenges, hopes to inspire MOCAfest participants to analyse the impending global problems, embrace multimedia technology and explore possibilities for a more equitable future. MOCAfest, due to its encouragement of the arts, is imperative if not urgent in uniting nations that are building walls and implementing protectionism. It’s a platform for established and emerging talents of different genres, cultures and beliefs to gather, display, collaborate as well as exchange their works on an international stage.
Home to the arts as well as the business of arts, MOCAfest offers opportunities to network and showcase through film screenings, visual art exhibitions, performing arts that includes music, dance and exciting creative collaborations as well as its very own marketplace – MOCASouq.
The MOCASouq is a bazaar that features artisanal merchandise. The bazaar offers an opportunity for greater visibility for the artisans, which is in tune with WIEF’s economic mission.
